Preston Names Chris Ramos as Vice President of Field Operations and Ian McCoog as Project Executive
Preston Companies announced that effective January 2, 2023, Chris Ramos has been appointed Vice President of Field Operations. Alongside Rich Lewis, also Vice President of Field Operations, Ramos will support field operations, processes, and, most importantly, the company’s people.
“In his time at Preston, Chris has proven that he understands the work in the field and the sense of urgency that leads to supported crews, optimized production, and satisfied customers,” said President Jordan Thomas. “He has earned the respect of office and field staff and is viewed as a valuable resource and advisor. With Rich and Chris working together, we will take the next step in scaling up our field support to match our growing workforce.”
After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from California State University, Fresno, Ramos joined the Preston Pipelines team, one of the three entities that make up Preston Companies, in 2013 as a Project Engineer. He has held successive positions of increasing responsibility, including Project Manager and Senior Project Manager. Most recently, in 2020, he was promoted to Project Executive.
In addition, effective January 2, 2023, is the promotion of Ian McCoog, Senior Project Manager, to Project Executive. McCoog will follow in Ramos’ footsteps and become the leader of the Milpitas team.
“From the beginning, Ian has shown that he embodies all the qualities we value at Preston: quality, integrity, service, and beyond. In addition, he has proven that he can meet and exceed the expectations of our most important clients and continually provide the support to keep our field teams moving,” adds President Jordan Thomas. “Working with Chris to grow and develop the team members in the Milpitas office, Ian is already seen as a leader in that group and is the natural choice to step in as Project Executive.”
McCoog began his career at Preston Pipelines as a college intern and later returned as a Project Engineer after graduating from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. From there, he similarly held successive positions of increasing responsibility, including Project Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, Project Manager, and most recently, Senior Project Manager.
Preston Companies is excited to see the team continue to work together to mold the next generation of leadership within the company.
