It’s Construction Safety Week, and Preston is celebrating by recognizing team members who stand out for keeping safety top of mind.

Meet Preston Superintedent Carlos.

1. What does the safety week theme “Strong Voices, Safe Choices” mean to you?
To me, it means that everyone has a voice and the right to speak up about safety, and their voices should be heard.

2. What do you do to ensure you’re working safely each day?
To ensure that myself and my crews are working safely each day, I make sure to communicate the plan of the day and any hazards. I want to make sure that everyone is on the same page and is wearing the proper PPE for the tasks being done for the day.

3. Why is safety important in the workplace?
We have to make sure that we provide a safe work environment for everyone and make sure our teams get home safely to their families each evening.

4. What motivates you to work safely?
What motivates me to work safely is knowing that I get home to my family and that my teams go home safely to their families each and every day.

5. What does safety mean at Preston?
This is what Preston is all about….nothing gets done without in safety mind.
